Ashwani Khad Waterfall

Located at a distance of about 15 km from Solan, Ashwani Khad Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction in town. Surrounded by leafy forests and rocky hills, the waterfall is visited by many tourists throughout the year. The best time to visit Ashwani Khad Waterfall is during the monsoon season. The rain along with the cascading water on the uniquely-shaped rock formations makes for a stunning sight!

Chadwick Falls

Chadwick Falls is situated at an elevation of about 100 m above sea level. Located in the beautiful Glen Forest in the city of Shimla, this waterfall in Solan is surrounded by gorgeous pine and deodar trees. The easiest way to get to Chadwick Falls from Shimla is via road. The picturesque route is dotted with lush green trees and snow-clad mountains, making the drive all the more worthwhile.

This waterfall was earlier known as ‘Chidku Jhaar’ where Chidku translates to a bird in the local language and Jhaar translates to waterfall. It was believed that only birds could reach the top of the waterfall. Britishers found it hard to pronounce and named the waterfall Chadwick Falls!
